What do you mean by a reporting period?

Posted by & filed under COPYRIGHT LICENSE (CCL), ONLINE REPORTING - COPYRIGHT LICENSE, REHEARSAL LICENSE, Rehearsal License Reporting, Why, When and Who Reports.

The reporting requirements for the Copyright License® and the Rehearse License are different. Please see the time frames below:

  • For the Copyright License®:

The copy activity reporting schedule is based upon 2 six month reporting periods.

Spring/Summer Activity: April 1 – September 30

Fall/Winter Activity: October 1 – March 31

Organizations will be assigned to report during one of the six month periods approximately every 2 1/2 years. We only want your copy activity reported during the assigned period. Please review the 4 CCL Reporting categories to learn what should be reported.

  • For Rehearse License:

Organizations are to report weekly throughout their subscription year, as they make copies of commercial recordings for their rehearsals. CCLI will collect your reported information at the end of each  six month period (see above) to distribute the royalties. Once the royalties have been paid, these entries will become inactive on the front screen of your report. Please continue to add new entries throughout the year. Please read the article, “How do I report for our Rehearse license“, for more details.
